Cornflowers in the Clouds Quilt

Straight away off to buy more fabric for the next project.

Blue is my favorit colour and i found some really pretty blue daisy material.

The blue daisy was the foundation for my selection which is predominately blue, ranging from cornflower to navy, with some beautiful patterned cream fabric.

I am making this into a queensize quilt, well actually larger than queensize, the centre patchwork will be 84in x 84in, and then probably 2 borders.

Each square will be 4in x 4in when sewn and made of 3 pieces. (See one in photo below) they will be placed in different directions to create a pattern.

The quilt will have 441 squares.

Each square is made out of two 1.5in x 5in piece and one 3in x 5in peice.

There are 10 different fabrics so i need to cut 44 big pieces and 88 small pieces out of each fabric.

Jella Owl Quilt

This is my very first quilt.
My daughter and I made it for my cousin Majella's unborn daughter. It was a labour of love over the Easter long weekend. I am happy with my fabric selection as it's not too babyish, its also a good size so it should last her well into her toddler years as a snuggle rug for the couch once she has outgrown it as a cot quilt.
My daughter Danielle did all the sewing on her new Janome machine we bought as part of her wedding present.
The diamentions are :
58 five inch squares (8x7)
one 3 inch border
one 4 inch border.
